The Supply Run

Still eating off the Costco haul. That $644 run is still paying dividends, which is the whole point of buying big once and staying out of the store.

Ran some math this week on four things I bought for the kid. Smart changing pad, a bouncer, and two more. All off Facebook Marketplace. Total savings versus buying new: $409.97. That's not coupon-clipping money. That's real money staying in the account.

Lessons from the Trenches

Opinions are like belly buttons.

Everybody's got one and everybody wants to share it. The name. The gender. How you're going to parent. Strangers, family, people who don't have kids. All of them have a take.

Here's my take: ignore that shit. It's ridiculous. Nobody's raising this kid but us, and the peanut gallery doesn't get a vote.

Bought & Skipped

Nothing baby related this week. But fellas, one non-baby lesson: test a putter before you buy it. I bought an Odyssey Ai Dual Seven S without ever holding one. Hated it. Bought something else. That's an expensive way to learn something the pro shop would have taught me for free in five minutes.

Cheap Dad Win

BabyBjorn Bouncer. Eighty bucks on Marketplace. I don't know much about it yet, but at that price I didn't need to. Will report back when the kid actually gets a vote on it.

Project Queue

No new projects on the bench. But I'm in some early discussions with a buddy from high school. He's a farming and ranching consultant now, and we're kicking around whether there's a way for me to get beef for free. Yes, free beef. If anything comes of it, you'll read about it here first.

From the Shop

Quiet week on the printable front. But the Redbubble shop is live now — three Fatherhood Supply designs are up — and the Etsy shop is rolling too. Every shirt that sells is a little fuel for this newsletter.
